My optometrist loves to remind me of just how severely myopic my views are. Buh dum tsss! That ridiculous joke plays our IRL once annually.
But first, a tangent:
Ever since I first learned of Joan Garry in 2013, awe has slowly turned into an appreciation of her years of industry-shifting work in the non-profit space.
In Episode 118 of the Joan Garry Podcast, she explores Giving Circles, “a group of like-minded people who gather, learn about causes, and pool together resources to support a cause”, and the power of social giving with Sara Lomelin, executive director of Philanthropy Together.
In my life of giving, I have grown to respect that ideas, skills, experiences and even vitality are riches to be shared.
that’s often squandered by misers and hoarders.
My eyes glow when I meet an elder. I find the fortune much like meeting a living, breathing library that should be cherished.
I commit to showing my work, sharing my inspirations, and smiling for no reason.
